Data sources, evidence & coverage
Sources, dates and the gaps between them.
Current coverage in Oregon and Washington contains 95 source-linked locations. 23 have public access supported by source evidence; 24 meet the current useful-page indexing threshold. The directory is not complete US coverage.
Evidence is field specific
OpenStreetMap data identifies mapped sanitary dump facilities. It cannot establish that an untagged location is open to everyone. Operator enrichment is retained alongside original identifiers. A fee tag is not a current quoted price. A water tag is not automatically evidence of drinking-water quality.

How freshness works
Import dates, source timestamps and desk-review dates are different. Hours, charges and seasonal access can change between checks. Scheduled checks review operator links weekly, refresh the original Washington map candidates monthly, and discover additional states in recurring batches. Candidates are checked against official sources before useful new listings or corrections are published. These checks do not monitor station operation live. Seasonal hours and station-specific conditions still need source review.
What to verify
- Permission for non-guests and current dump operation.
- Separate entrance, dump and camping charges.
- Potable-water designation and seasonal shutoffs.
- Vehicle fit, approach road and operating hours.
